Our Story

Why Soap-Making?

People often ask us, "How did you get into making soap?" It all started back in 2002 when Paul gave me a soap-making book while we were in the UK, just before we got married that August. By Christmas, we were already making batches as gifts—and everyone loved them! Now, over twenty years later, we're a family-owned and operated soap-making business, still going strong.

Our Dedication to the Environment:

Only two of our soaps, Bee’s Knees and Oatmeal Waffles, contain honey. We’re mindful of the impact on bees and are actively working to create a sustainable beekeeping environment right in our backyard. This initiative is designed to ensure the ethical treatment of our bees and the responsible sourcing of the honey we use in our products.

While we use beeswax as a natural hardener, we’re committed to avoiding palm oil, the most common alternative. Our dedication to crafting palm oil-free, plant-based formulas is essential because palm oil production is a major driver of deforestation, threatening some of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems and the species that inhabit them. Environmental conservation and animal welfare are at the core of our mission. That’s why we make vegetarian soaps using a base of plant-based oils like olive, coconut, sunflower, and castor. These ingredients not only create a rich, luxurious lather but also ensure our bars are long-lasting and cruelty-free.

Thanks for stopping by; we hope you find our products to be the bee's knees!
